Downloads folders get messy because everything lands there first. Cleaning it up does not mean organizing your whole digital life. It just means making the pile a little easier to understand.
Try this
- Open your Downloads folder
- Create one folder called Keep
- Move files you recognize into Keep and leave the rest for later
